Elias

Elias (not his real name) is a human rights defender and activist working on statelessness and right to nationality both globally and in his local context. He was born stateless and has spent much of his life experiencing exclusion and systematic discrimination. This lived experience has shaped his commitment to challenging systems that deny people their basic human rights.

Elias is the founder of an initiative working on statelessness and the right to nationality in his local context. His work focuses on documenting lived experience, raising awareness, and making information about nationality rights more accessible to his local audience.

Alongside this work, Elias contributes to strengthening lived-experience-leadership in broader global settings. His contributions seek to create greater space for people directly affected by statelessness to define their own experience and organise for their rights.

This fellowship will support Elias in strengthening his advocacy, leadership, and community-based work, while developing new approaches to documenting and communicating the experience of stateless people.
