Irtaza Muhammad
Irtaza Muhammad is a peacebuilding practitioner and social change activist working to strengthen inclusive governance, community dialogue, and social cohesion in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, a conflict-affected region shaped by decades of political instability and unresolved tensions. As Executive Director of the Centre for Peace, Development and Reforms (CPDR), he leads initiatives that bring together local communities, civil society actors, and young leaders to address structural inequalities and build pathways toward sustainable peace.
Irtaza has designed and implemented programs focused on conflict analysis, community mediation, climate resilience, and the socio-political empowerment of marginalised communities. He has expertise in youth engagement, governance reform, and building bridges between grassroots activists and policy actors across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Through his SCI Fellowship, Irtaza is developing values-based narrative frameworks to counter polarisation and build social cohesion across Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The initiative brings together diverse youth voices to strengthen inclusive dialogue and amplify constructive voices.
