Lorena Elizondo Grediaga

Lorena Elizondo Grediaga is a pedagogue, facilitator, mediator and consultant from Mexico City. Her background is in grassroots community education and organising, and she currently collaborates with feminist organisations to help them organise, make collective decisions and address internal conflicts. She translates academic research and activist demands into workshops that foster empathy, critical thinking and grassroots movement-building through playful strategies and methodologies, such as theatre of the oppressed and educational theatre.

She believes people are the experts of their own experience, and sustainable social change can only be achieved through active listening and community building. She works from the conviction that our current punitive approaches to conflict and justice exacerbate violence, inequality and injustice and works to collectively reimagine processes and definitions for justice, based on repair and social transformation.

The fellowship will allow Lorena to support a community-led relational peacebuilding project in Unidad Ermita Zaragoza, Iztapalapa, Mexico.
