Louise Coyle

Louise is the Director for Northern Ireland Rural Women’s Network (NIRWN), which works to promote and support rural women in rural Northern Ireland. Louise has worked with this organisation since its inception and prior to this worked in both the community/voluntary and statutory sectors. Through her role as advocate for rural women she has made representations to governments in Stormont, Westminster, Dublin, and in other European countries. 

She has engaged in Civil Society representations to the United Nations in Geneva and New York and was recently appointed to the Department for Communities Gender Expert Panel to help produce a research report to inform the NI Executive Gender Equality Strategy as set out in the New Decade, New Approach commitments. Louise joined SCI and other activists on a study visit to Athens, Greece, where they learned about lessons from the Golden Dawn trial and how human rights organisations function in the country.
