Luke Butterly

Luke is an investigative journalist in Belfast. He has covered a wide range of issues, including policing and the human stories around migration in Northern Ireland, for local and international press.

Previously, he has worked with those navigating homelessness, mental ill-health, and the asylum and migration systems. Luke has always had a passion for storytelling, looking at stories and experiences of those who are marginalised in society, how they push for social change, and how institutions respond.

His Fellowship has explored the ways in which the Irish border affects and impacts the migrant communities who have called Northern Ireland and the border counties their home. You can read a collection of his work (here).
