Siobhan O'Donoghue
Siobhán O'Donoghue is the founding Director of Uplift, now Ireland's largest people-powered campaigning organisation. She has spent more than three decades at the heart of Irish civil society — designing campaigns, building movements, supporting leaders, and navigating the space between grassroots organising, community work and institutional power.
As founding director of the Migrant Rights Centre Ireland, she led successful campaigns including rights for domestic workers, criminalisation of forced labour and protections for people undocumented.
More recently, Siobhán has been instrumental in the formation of the Hope & Courage Collective,, Ireland's leading civil society space countering extremism. She is co-founder of the Democracy Hub and CorpWatch Ireland and serves on the board of global network Online Progressive Engagement Network.
The fellowship will support Siobhán’s time to write the Constellation of Hope book for campaigners, community workers, volunteers, activists and civil society leaders primarily based in an Irish context. It will address the need for a framework that supports change makers in ‘sense-making’ and navigating an increasingly complex, tense, fast-changing context.
