Teresa Buczkowska

Teresa is a Polish migrant woman living in Ireland since 2005 and is Integration Manager, at the Immigrant Council of Ireland. In her study and work, Teresa is highly invested in facilitating and enhancing migrant leadership.  She holds an MA in Ethnology and Social Anthropology and a Professional Diploma in Human Rights and Equality.

Teresa has published in Ireland and internationally on racism, integration best practices and integration politics. She is a founding member of the Transatlantic Migrant Democracy Dialogue and in December 2019, Teresa was appointed to the board of the Arts Council of Ireland.

Through her SCI Fellowship, Teresa’s overarching aim was to build a well-connected and effective network of migrant and refugee leaders in Ireland, and to build a national platform where migrant voices will lead the discussion on migration and integration.  She engaged with migrant changemakers in Ireland and globally.

This resulted in the creation of the Library of Migrant Women, here. Teresa also produced a podcast series on Diversity in Politics, here. Teresa has since been selected as an Obama Scholar. Read an article on her activism journey, here.
