Wendy Kerr

Wendy is strategically involved in building the capacity of loyalist communities within a rural setting. She works closely with ex-prisoners and former combatants to help engage them in community development activities and move them away from violence. This work is critical, especially at a time when communities are changing. Wendy is involved in mediation to help build relationships and understanding around Brexit, changing demographics, legacy issues, and policing.

Wendy undertook a joint Fellowship with colleague Darren Richardson on restorative practice. They were concerned about the rising levels of anti-social behaviour in their communities. The Fellowship allowed them to learn more about restorative approaches being used in Northern Ireland and further afield, including its application in several UK cities and regions.
