Creating an LGBTQ+ centre

How should a new LGBTQ+ centre be created to meet the diverse needs of the communities it serves?

SCI Fellow Danielle Roberts is the Senior Policy and Development Officer for ‘Here NI’, a charity which supports and empowers lesbian and bisexual women and their families.

Danielle travelled to the United States to meet organisations running LGBTQ+ centres and services to gather information on how similar spaces could be created in Northern Ireland.

Her report shares the lessons Danielle gathered through her Fellowship project, helping to shape deliberations in Northern Ireland, while also offering insights to those working on these issues in other societies.
