Danielle Roberts

Danielle is the Senior Policy and Development Officer for ‘Here NI’, a charity which supports and empowers lesbian and bisexual women and their families. She has a background in Law and Human Resources, qualifying as a solicitor in 2009 before completing a PgDip in Human Resource Management in 2013. For the past few years, Danielle has been working on a PhD project at Ulster University researching barriers to Protestant Unionist Loyalist women’s political participation, as well as teaching politics and social policy. 

She is involved in feminist activism with Belfast Feminist Network and Alliance for Choice, and co-organiser of the annual Reclaim the Night Belfast march against street harassment and gender-based violence. For Danielle’s Fellowship with SCI, she travelled to the USA to gain knowledge on approaches in LGBT+ centers and services, she has compiled a report (here) on what she discovered and hopes that these lessons can be used to create similar spaces in Northern Ireland.
